It is extremely useful for treating respiratory infections, recurrent fever, constipation, ulcer, hemorrhoids, . Fruits are usually in the form of drupes, grey-coloured and ovoid-shaped and are covered with minute pale pubescence enclosing one stony hard seed within. it is one of the fruits that make up the famous Ayurvedic formulation known as Triphala. Baheda is known for its medicinal properties and is considered as rejuvenating, astringent and laxative properties.
